Where have I been?

Hey guys, I finally decided to update you and tell you where I've been and why I haven't posted in so long. A few things, first of all I moved from Kenya to the United States. Yup, big change, told you I move quite a bit. That reminds me, I have to update my about me section and change the Kenya to the U.S. Not only this, but missing 3 weeks of school, made me have to catch up on a lot and I kind of forgot/didn't get a lot of time to post. On top of this, I kind of lost interest. I had so much to do and I thought why write publicly like this, when no one reads what I write? When I'm nothing to people and not someone who someone looks forward to me posting? Just the other day, I was looking at Reese Regan's blog and Zoella's blog and it occurred to me I had to build that platform. And what better time to do it then in the summer? Even though, I'm super busy and behind in a lot (yes I do a lot of summer work). So anyways, I'm back in this whole blog thing so keep tuned because I have a lot of cool projects and ideas to share with you. :) And may I add, I'm not really liking my overview of my blog, so it will be updated very soon SO look forward to that ;)

Clearing up Confusion

Hey guys, I got some questions on why I had another blog page (http://shehzrin.wix.com/shehzrin). So, they are both pretty much the same but I decided to make two for the convenience of you guys. Some prefer a more simple page while others expect more, I made two different blogs so you guys can choose which style you'd rather use! Let me know in the comments which page you like better. I may transition to using just one website soon! :)

Casual Day Outfits

Hi guys! Today, I decided to give you some fashion ideas. Here are just a few outfits for a casual day, maybe at the movies or at a mall. I hope you find these helpful to you! :)

Outfit #1

The patterned sweater is from Aeropostale and the plain black leggings are from H&M. This would be better for the colder days of summer, maybe for the  movies as cinemas are always freezing!

Outfit #2

The second outfit consists of a cropped top from Forever 21 paired with white denim jeans from Gap. Slipping jeans and a top is fast, quick, cute and just for a mall day!

To give an even more casual day vibe, you can roll up your jeans to give a laid back look!

Outfit #3
The maroon cropped hoodie is from H&M and the white shorts are from Gap. Shorts always scream summer, especially more colourful ones! It's perfect for a walk on the beach.

Outfit #4
The spring tee is from H&M and the jeans are from Gap. This is perfect for summing a casual day outfit, even though it says 'Spring Feeling' ;) I would totally go to the mall with this or take a stroll in the park with this outfit!

Waterfalls

My last two days spent in Zambia were unforgettable. There were so many possibilities on what to do, it was hard to decide which activities to do in a short period of time. My family and I stayed in the Zambezi Sun, a hotel located in Livingstone (where the Victoria Falls are). From the same branch was another hotel, the Royal Livingstone located right next to our hotel. Both provided a great view and the people working there were both polite and helpful. You could do so much such as micro lighting, riding quad bikes, river safaris, riding segways, walking through the Victoria Falls, helicopter rides and that's not it. I'm here to tell you about all my experiences and great memories I made in Zambia.

The first thing we did in Livingstone was run through the mist of the Victoria Falls. There were bridges and small places built near the Falls to look at them and enjoy the beautiful view. You can get pretty wet, so bring a poncho or a raincoat (available at the Falls and probably the hotel you are staying at). The Zambezi Sun had free, available ponchos meanwhile the ponchos right before the Falls adventure cost about 5 dollars. Be sure not to slip on the bridges or the viewing points across the falls. We actually passed through the falls twice. The first time I went with the only pair of shoes I had taken to the trip. Bad idea! My shoes ended up being soaked. The second time, we went barefoot. Again, not the best idea as it was uncomforable. The stones hurt my feet a bit. I'd take slippers or shoes that you don't mind getting wet.

After a long day with the flights and the Falls, my family and I were quite hungry. We decided to take a shuttle to the Royal Livingstones. The shuttles were used to go to the Zambezi Sun and the Royal Livingstone (both hotels) and nearby locations for microlighting, quadbiking and more. There was a good variety of salads and burgers, mostly with beef (and I was never really a big fan of beef, so I didn't get the chance to try them). We ate right beside the Zambezi river, giving a great view to us while we ate. Later in the night, we got pretty hungry again so we ordered room servie. We got a margherita pizza, which was delicious. It was even better eating it while watching a movie on the televison. The next day, we decided to have the complimentary breakfast buffet with a variety of fruits, cereals, meat, eggs and more. For lunch, we stuck with the Royal Livingstone again, but this time with some milkshakes!

We used segways with a guide who took us around the two hotels. It was the first time for my whole family, though it wasn't difficult to learn. There were also segways in different sizes depending on your height. The next morning we even went quad biking. Everyone got their own quad bike, but you could share one if you wanted to. There were even shuttles that helped you get from place to place for free (of course if you stayed in one of the two hotels mentioned). Though, most places weren't too far from each other, so shuttle rides were also not too long.

Overall, we had a great time full of amazing memories. I'd totally recommend this for a family vacation!

Cruise Essentials

Packing the right things for a cruise or trip is crucial for a great experience during your visit. You have to keep in mind the weather and the number of days you will be travelling. The cruise I recently took was a Baltic Sea 9-day cruise. A lot of the countries my family and I visited were quite chilly and some rainy as well. Without a sweater or umbrella, we would have had a hard time going around and enjoying our time. The number of shirts/shorts/pants/undergarments will depend on the number of days yout trip is. So I'm here to help you with some important necessities for a cruise (the list is in no order). Enjoy!

1. Travel documents (passport, tickets etc.)
2. Clothes you intend to take
3. Umbrella
4. Sunglasses
5. A book (especially for the days just at sea)
6. A swimsuit (there is a pool in most cruise ships)
7. Goggles
8. Towels (though, those would probably be provided)
9. Sunscreen (never know when the sun decides to show up!)
10. Sweaters (the evening could especially be chilly)
11. Phone (though you will not need this, it's good to have it)
12. Camera/underwater camera
13. Portable charger
14. Chargers (phone, camera, laptop etc.)
15. Medecine
16. Flip Flops + Joggers
17. Hairties/Bobby pins (sometimes you just need your hair out of your face)
18. Lotion
19. Hand sanitizer (especially for when you get off to sightsee)
20. Hats/caps
21. Headphones (especially if you intend to listen to music)
22. Make up
23. Deodorant
24. Belts
25. Bags you may use during stops the cruise ship makes
26. Brush/combs
27. Shampoo, conditioner, soap (though, it will probably be provided)
28. Swimsuit cover up

Also, don't forget to take some money or credit cards to help you when you are off the cruise ship looking around! You never know when you get hungry or you see that really cute souvenir, you really need to buy! :) And if you want to know about my cruise experience, feel free to comment below and let me know! What's your main cruise essential? Is there anything I missed that is really important to you? Comment below! I hope this helped! :)

Dubai Adventures

Dubai! Known for it's tall skyscrapers and of course the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa! That was another one of my destinations this summer. My cousin, Sarah, my aunt and my uncle also live there. We stayed with them, and what great hosts they were. That made the trip even more fun; staying up late at night, talking, watching movies and telling stories. We arrived a little late in the night, so the minute we reached, we slept.

THE NEXT MORNING:
The first part of the day was pretty chill and relaxed. We ate breakfast and chatted. As you probably know, there are quite a few malls in Dubai, as well as the the Dubai Mall (If I remember correctly the 18th biggest mall in the world). There were so many stores and so much to look at, sometimes finding stores was hard but almost everything you need is there. If you prefer smaller malls, with yet a variety of stores, the Mall of Emirates or the Ibn Battuta Mall are good choices. Don't forget, shop till' you drop! Though, I didn't really do too much shopping, it was fun roaming around the mall with my family. At the time we went, the malls were pretty crowded as Eid began. In the evening my sister, Zarmin, my cousin and I went to Kidzania. it was almost like an entire different world for children AND teens to experience the adult world. You earned money if you worked and paid money when buying things. You get to work in different places, such as the the SWISS ARABIA, a perfume shop where you made perfumes or the Kinder Chocolate Factory, where you made chocolate! You could go to a university, or be a doctor. You got degrees, resumes, passports and the experience was outstanding. Though, some of the people working there were not the nicest, the whole idea was interesting and entertaining. I would totally go there again.

THE SECOND DAY:
The second day, my uncle came and joined us, bringing along my cute baby cousin. AW! And I'm proud to say, he learned my name (which is not easy). Fine, I made him learn a nickname, but good enough. Most of the day was spend waiting for them and preparing everything for them so we didn't do too much. At the end of the day, Zarmin, Sarah, my aunt and I went down to the park/playground with our baby cousin. After a while, we decided to swim and though this was a chilled day it was a great one. A family reunion!

THE LAST DAY:
We didn't get to spend too much time in Dubai, but they were full of fun and memorable times. Our flight was in the evening so we had limited time that day, but 5 hours in Sega Republic were more than enough. It is an indoor theme park in Dubai Mall. There was a variety of rides and my favorite one was probably the Spingear, which was a rollercoaster. Sarah, Zarmin and I got the unlimited pack, in which we could take any ride as many times as we wanted. Though, these cards didn't include access to games, so we didn't play any but the rides were enough for us. We took so many, I could've vomitted any second in the last few minutes of our time in Sega. Meanwhile, our moms roamed around the mall. Our trip was soon over, but the memories remained.
